I had to stop what I was doing

03 Dec

to post about PubMed, (at first glance, it looks like a link farm, doesn’t it?) because I couldn’t believe the amount of scientific medical information that can be found there – if you’re skilled enough to understand it all.  And I’m not.  🙂

But look at the gene maps for the rhesus macaque!  How cool is that?  Oh, yeah, you can browse your own genome, too.  Can’t make any sense of it?  How about the bookshelf?  Maybe you’d prefer to read up on the Off-Label Use of Atypical Antipsychotics?  Just for example, you know.  They’ve got the full text. 5,000 titles are indexed and included in their database.  The amount of information here is unbelievable!  I could lose weeks browsing, and wouldn’t understand half of it.  But now that I’m aware of it, I can’t imagine getting much use out of WebMD.
